Norm Hall re-elected to APAS for 2016

Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) Board of Directors elected Norm Hall, APAS Representative for RM of Emerald, #277, District 4, as President for the 2015-2016 year. Norm farms at Wynyard with his wife and his brother.

The Board also elected Todd Lewis, RM of Lajord, #128, District 2 and Donovan Block, RM of Leroy #339 as Vice –Presidents for the Association.

“I am grateful to the APAS Board of Directors for the vote of confidence in leading APAS and in representing our members”, said Norm Hall.  “The agricultural industry has the opportunity to positively adjust their business environment through involvement in important policy discussions in the coming year. The Executive and I will continue to work to ensure farmers and ranchers’ interests continue to be the primary APAS focus in advancing relevant policies”.

At the Annual General Meeting, APAS Representatives elected the following individuals to the APAS Board of Directors:

District 1 - Arlynn Kurtz, RM of Fertile Belt, #183

Marion McBride, RM of Moosomin #121

District 2 - Todd Lewis,  RM of Lajord #128

Terry Anthony, RM of Baildon #131     

District 3 - Don Connick, RM of Carmichaeal, #109

District 4 - Norm Hall, RM of Emerald #277

Ian Boxall, RM of Connaught #457

District 5 - Donavon Block, RM of Leroy, #339

Mickey Palfy, RM of Viscount #341

District 6 - Jeff Simpson, RM of Grandview #349

Jeremy Welter, RM of Mariposa #350

Members of four policy committees – Economic, Trade & Strategic Growth; Grains & Oilseeds; Livestock and Land & Environment – were also appointed for 2016.

APAS is Saskatchewan’s general farm organization formed to provide farmers and ranchers with a democratically elected, grassroots, non-partisan, producer organization based on rural municipal boundaries. As the united voice of thousands of agricultural producers in Saskatchewan, we strive to represent the views of a wide variety of agricultural stakeholders in order to form comprehensive policies that can benefit all sectors of society.
