CANORA - Five student/athletes from Canora Composite School made the trip north to compete in cross-country provincials at Wapiti Ski Hill, north of Melfort, on Oct. 15, along with coaches Thomas Lowes and Leona Kitchen.
"It was a great day at Wapiti," reported the coaches. "The weather was cool in the morning, but the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day for running! The trail was a true cross-country trail with a few steep hills that were challenging. Our boys did their best and we are so proud of how they represented CCS and East Central."
In the U15 Boys three-kilometre race, out of a field of 103 runners, Ty Lemaigre placed 46th in a time of 13:12, and Kayden Karder finished close behind in 54th at 13:21.
In Over 16 boys there were 96 runners taking part in the five-kilometre race. Hunter Lamb finished 51st with a time of 22:35. Porter Wolowksi placed 69th in 24:08, and Jack Craig came in 78th at 25:05.
The coaches added that "It has been a great season and we are already excited for next year."
