Church youth take important step in their faith journey
The seven graduating students from two to eight years old from Ukrainian families new to Canora are parishioners of two parishes – the Ukrainian Orthodox and the Greek Catholic, and completed their first-year studies.
It was the graduation of first-year students from the Sunday School of the Holy Trinity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canora on June 1. The priest of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Canora, Reverend Father Yurii Obukh, presented certificates of successful graduation for the first year in the presence of their parents and blessed them all. The teacher was Dobrodiika Lyudmila Obukh, and her assistant was Dorothy Korol. In the photo, joining Father Yurri and Dobrodiika Lyudmila in the back row was Lev Blauva, graduate. Graduates in the front row, from left, are: Liliia Mazur, Viktoriia Zmykalo, Daiana Blauva, Evelina Shumada, Matvii Shumada and Damian Simko.
