Ally Rock graduated from Canora Composite School, and has returned to her alma mater to teach Grade 7 homeroom.

Canora Composite School has a number of new teachers for the new school year, but one of them really doesn’t seem new at all.

Ally Rock was raised in Canora and graduated from Canora Composite School.

“I moved back here five years ago and love being close to my family and friends,” said Rock.

“I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age and graduated from the University of Regina with a bachelor of education degree in 2013. I completed my master in education from Brandon University in 2020.”

Before joining the staff at CCS, Rock taught in Pelly for three years, and in Preeceville for six more.

“I taught a variety of subjects from grades 2 to 12, but most recently it was Grade 3 homeroom the last four years. At CCS I am teaching Grade 7 homeroom,” detailed Rock.

“I am very much looking forward to the change and challenge of a new school and teaching assignment. The first couple of weeks have been wonderful getting to know and also getting reacquainted with students and staff.”
