Preeceville U18 team keeps winning, aided by Canora players

Team effort propels Preecville U18 squad up the standings.

The Preeceville Pats U18 hockey team has continued improving its record as the season rolls along. After 12 games played, Preeceville is now in third spot in the league.

Preeceville Minor Hockey Day on January 22 concluded with the U18 Pats facing a rough, challenging game against the Whitewood U18 Jets. The game was forfeited in the second period and the final score at the time of forfeiting was 8 to 1 for Preeceville. The forfeit occurred due to an injury attained from a cut by a skate to a Whitewood player who was taken by ambulance to Yorkton for his injury and the team’s coach went with the player.

Scorers for Preeceville were: Rhett Ludba of Canora (two goals), with singles from Spencer Leech, Seth Hort, Nathan Anaka, Trever Geistlinger, Kaiden Masley and Hunter Lamb of Canora. Assists were by: Hudsyn Nelson, Seth Hort, Lamb, Porter Wolkowski of Canora, Nathan Newbery and Tomas Hauber of Canora.

On January 26, Preeceville traveled to Melville to take in the Melville Millionaires. The game was very one-sided with Preeceville dominating most of the contest. The final score was 11 to 1 for Preeceville.

Scoring for Preeceville were: Trever Geistlinger (three goals), Kaiden Masley (two goals), Spencer Leech (two goals), with single goals from Seth Hort, and Porter Wolkowski, Rhett Ludba and Briel Beblow of Canora. Assists were by: Hudsyn Nelson, Ludba, Masley, Bronson Heshka of Canora, Leech, Beblow, Logan Wolkowski of Canora, Hauber and Lamb.

The teams coaching staff is Jesse Nelson, head coach, and Dawson Paul, along with Dwayne Wolkowski and Bryan Heshka of Canora.
