CANORA - “Probably the most people we’ve ever had, it was incredible!”
With near perfect weather, a total of 211 people were fed at the United Church Perogy Lunch during Canora’s Community in Bloom festivities on Aug. 12, many on tables outside the church, according to Val Morozoff, one of the extremely busy United Church volunteers.
Morozoff and the other volunteers cooked up 1,932 perogies (161 dozen) and estimated there were only about a dozen left after the last order was served.
Those interested in dessert after the meal could choose from an appealing assortment of 26 dozen tarts. Only about two dozen were left over at the end.
“Thanks for the amazing support, we were overwhelmed with the number of people,” concluded Morozoff.
