Broda Sportsplex packed to the brim for Minor Hockey Day

The day featured a series of matchups.

KAMSACK — Families, players, and supporters came together at the Broda Sportsplex to celebrate Minor Hockey Day.

The Jan. 6 event featured a series of matchups, including the U7 Kamsack Flyers against the Churchbridge Imperials, the U9 and U11 Flyers facing off against Preeceville's U9 and U11 teams, the U13 Flyers competing against the Cote Selects, and the U15 Highway Nine Predators taking on the Langenburg Warriors in the final game.

One of the notable highlights of the event was the U11 game between the Kamsack Flyers and the Preeceville Pats. The competition was intense, with the Kamsack Flyers securing the first goal and the Preeceville Pats quickly responding with a goal of their own in the first period.

Scores from the day's matches were as follows:

  • U9 Kamsack Flyers vs. U9 Preeceville Pats: 20-4 in favour of Kamsack
  • U11 Kamsack Flyers vs. U11 Preeceville Pats: Kamsack triumphed 13-7
  • U13 Kamsack Flyers vs. U13 Cote Selects: Kamsack emerged victorious with a score of 25-9

In the U7 matchup between the Kamsack Flyers and the Churchbridge Imperials, the focus was on the spirit of the game rather than keeping score. Despite the absence of a formal score, it was evident that both teams put forth commendable efforts in a closely contested match.

To conclude the day, the U15 Highway Nine Predators faced off against the Langenburg Warriors, resulting in a 4-4 tie.
