KAMSACK — A donation made June 23 has pushed the total amount raised for the Victoria School’s kitchen renovation project to just $9,000 shy of the target.
On behalf of Fedoruk Seeds of Kamsack, Michael, Natalie and Rosie Fedoruk presented a cheque of $2,500 to Kendra Simon, principal, who accepted the money on behalf of the Victoria School Community Council.
The construction, which is basically combining two spaces into one to better serve the nutritional needs of the students, is to begin in the autumn, Simon explained. Of the target amount of $50,000, to date, $41,000 has been raised.
“I grew up here and attended Victoria School,” Michael said. “Our daughter will soon be attending school here.”
The upgrade of the kitchen is a great idea and will help students receive the nutrition they require, he said.
