Halloween Guidelines from the Town of Kamsack

With Halloween being on a Sunday, the Town of Kamsack is recommending that Trick-or-Treating happen between the hours of 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and that everyone follows the Public Health recommendations to ensure a safe and fun day.
Trick or Treat
Be safe out there!

Tips for Trick-or-Treaters

  • If you are feeling unwell, please stay home
  •  Trick-or-Treat with only family members or a few close friends you already spend time with
  • Be sure to wear a mask, incorporate it into your costume if possible
  • Ensure physical distancing (two metres) at all times
  • Wash your hands before and after Trick-or-Treating
  • When approaching a house, have patience and wait for the group ahead of you to leave
  • Do not crowd doorsteps
  • Knock on doors and avoid using doorbells
  • Consider playing a pre-recorded Treat-or-Treat audio message on your phone
  • After Trick-or-Treating, prior to eating any candy, wash your hands thoroughly

Tips for Handing out Candy

  • If feeling unwell, please do not hand out candy
  • One person per household (who is vaccinated) should hand out candy
  • Wear a mask when handing out candy
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Consider using tongs to drop candy into bags
  • Only offer store-bought, individually wrapped candy
  • If weather permits, consider sitting outside and place individual pieces of candy or prepared bags on a table for children to take
  • Frequently sanitize high-touch areas including the doorbell, doorknob, and handrails for general hygiene and protection against any viruses

The Town of Kamsack wishes all residents a safe and happy Halloween!
