Kamsack RCMP Report: Horses hanging out, crime at the Co-op

Some highlights from last week's RCMP activity in Kamsack

KAMSACK — The Kamsack RCMP responded to 65 calls from April 3 to April 10. This included four Mental Health Act-related calls, nine theft-related calls, three mischief calls, six 911 Act calls, two motor vehicle collisions and an animal call, as well as a handful of other occurrences.

Horses

On April 10, Kamsack RCMP received a call of a group of six horses around the school at Keeseekoose First Nation. The caller was worried that the horses would get to the highway and potentially be hit by oncoming traffic. Members attended and the horses were just hanging out in the school field far away from the highway.

Grocery Theft

A Kamsack RCMP member was off duty when two unknown males stole from the Co-op grocery store in Kamsack. The two males managed to get away but were later identified by RCMP members on duty at a later date. The males were arrested and charged with theft.

From Ban notice to Theft Charge

Kamsack RCMP members were conducting patrols when they noticed a female who was to be served a ban notice for the Kamsack Co-op grocery store. Upon giving the notice, another female drove up stating that the female had just stolen from the liquor store moments ago. Members then arrested the female and confirmed the allegations due to the video surveillance provided by the store.

Wellness Check

Kamsack RCMP members received a call from a friend of a female in Kamsack stating that they have not heard from her for a while after her best friend had passed away. They were worried about their friend and wanted a check done on her. Members attended the residence to conduct a well-being check. The female was found in her home but was not doing well due to the loss of her best friend. EMS was called and the female was then taken to the hospital to be further assessed by a doctor.

Search Warrant

Kamsack RCMP members executed a search warrant on a house known to be involved in drug activity. Members did a phenomenal job executing the warrant. Members located drugs as well as illegal firearms. Three males were arrested and two are still in custody.
