NORQUAY — The Norquay Pre-K program opened its doors to parents and interested community members for an open house event, offering a glimpse into the daily activities and learning environment of the young students.

The event occurred on Jan. 18, where parents and their children would meet the new teacher Keanna Romaniuk, formerly of Kamsack, who finished her internship to become a teacher this past December.

“I did it in Kamsack. I was actually in Grade 1 when I applied and I got this job. So I'm going to be here till June and then we'll see what happens.”

Romaniuk mentioned the open house was hosted to get more kids to attend the pre-k, where at the time of the open house, only six were planning to join.

“This is the first year ever having it in Norquay, versus in Kamsack where they've had pre-K forever. This just got put into the school this year. So it's nice to have,” Romaniuk said.
