The Springside 4-H Beef Club has had a very successful Achievement Day and Regional Show and Sale to finish off the 2011-2012 4-H year. Our members took the opportunity to show off all they have learned and accomplished this year.
"Our Achievement day was MC'd by Maureen Werner. Maureen and her husband Kalvin Werner have had a long time affiliation with our club and are previous winners of our 4-H Appreciation Award.

Our annual achievement day was held at the Yorkton Exhibition Grounds and was judged by Mr. Rick McIntyre from Churchbridge, SK. Here are the results of the various classes our members participated in.

All of our members received prizes from the following breed associations because they showed calves representing those breeds. They are: Saskatchewan Angus Association, Saskatchewan Simmental Association, Saskatchewan Hereford Association, Saskatchewan Gelbvieh Association, Saskatchewan Charolais Association. We would like to thank those breed associations for their donations.
Our club also had some success at the Regional Show and Sale.
Regional Show and Sale held on July 4, 2012 at the Yorkton Exhibition Grounds. This show and sale was attended by a number of other clubs including the Canora 4-H Club, Theodore 4-H Club, Sheho 4-H Club, Goodeve 4-H Club, Stony Plain 4-H Club, and the Neudorf 4-H Club.

At the end of the show, each of the 4-H members showing steers had the opportunity to finish their project by selling their steers. Our club would like to thank the many businesses and individuals who contributed to the purchase of our steers. Our club would also like to thank the many sponsors from both our Achievement Day and the Regional Show and Sale. Without the support from our sponsors, leaders and 4-H parents, our 4-H year would not be possible.
