In 2011, Yorkton Plumbing & Heating supported our 2nd Habitat build on Elizabeth Avenue with a donation of $20,000.00 worth of materials and labour. This helped Habitat put a family of seven into an affordable home. The oldest of the children is now attending the University of Regina Campus in his first year of University. This is how amazing the contributions made by businesses such as Yorkton Plumbing and Heating and their generous contributions help families get a hand up, not a hand out.
Further to this in 2012, Yorkton Plumbing installed all the heating and ducting in the Dunlop Build as well. This home was built for a family that emigrated from the Ukraine who through Habitat, were able to afford a home for all 6 of their children as well as the parents. Yorkton Plumbing and Heating’s financial investment of another $ 20,000.00 dollars allowed Habitat to continue to grow and increase our ability to continue building homes.
For this most recent Habitat build on Myrtle Avenue, Yorkton Plumbing is again investing $30,000 of materials and labour. This build is Habitat Yorkton’s largest undertaking as we are building a Duplex which allows for two families to settle in to affordable housing and raise their families.
In total, Yorkton Plumbing and Heating has committed in excess of $70,000.00 in donations toward the Habitat for Humanity Building Funds.
We are amazed and blessed by this company’s support and generous donations toward Habitat for Humanity within the city of Yorkton.
We would like to thank Yorkton Plumbing & Heating for their past and continued support of Habitat for Humanity AND congratulate them on the grand opening of their new facilities on Highway #9 North of Yorkton!
