A Regina woman accused of trafficking cocaine in Yorkton has pleaded not guilty and elected to be tried by Queen’s Bench judge alone.

Amina Koshin faces a number of charges including trafficking, possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and several breach charges.

At the time of her arrest in September, Koshin was facing similar charges in Regina related to a Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team bust June 17 that turned up cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana and led to four arrests.

A co-accused in the Yorkton case, Tynneal Melnechenko, pleaded guilty October 3 to possession for the purpose of trafficking and received nine months prison.

Koshin was scheduled to be court the same day, but was unable to attend as she was back in custody in Regina.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 16.
