The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan is committed to providing programs and support to those affected by dementia across Saskatchewan. Currently in Saskatchewan, over 18,000 people have dementia and each of those people has a network of family and friends affected by their disease. We want to ensure these people have easy access to information. Sometimes this is a tough feat, as Saskatchewan has a large rural population and many people with dementia live outside the urban centers of Regina and Saskatoon.
Our final spring Learning Series occurs on the evening of May 7 and is called: "It Doesn't Help to Spin Your Wheels Providing day-to-day care for someone with dementia." Presented by Evangeline Patkau, one our First Link Coordinators, this session will provide strategies and approaches to caregiving in the middle stages of the disease. This session will be from 7:00-9:00 pm and can accessed at the Saskatoon City Rependa Centre, the Regina Wascana Rehabiltation Centre or across the province via Telehealth. Attendees are asked to register online at www.alzheimer.ca/sk or to call 1-800-263-3367.
