The Parkland Mall in Yorkton opened its doors back in Oct. 7, 1976. The Mall marked its 40th Anniversary Thursday with a brief presentation at the food court, which included birthday cake for all in attendance. Five businesses in the Mall were also presented certificates for being part of business mix since the Mall opened. The certificates were presented from left; Brendon Lobraico with Shoppers Drug Mart, Susan Stewardson with Scotiabank, Tim Roemer, property manager at the Mall, Lindsay Semchuk with Ricki’s, Annie Toma with Sangster’s Health Centre, and Elmer D.McInnes with Coles Bookstore. In addition, Wendy Schmidt was presented a certificate by Roemer as a long-serving employee at the Mall, currently employed at Zeke’s Jewellers.
