SIGN has partnered with Browns Social House for their Annual Christmas Pyjama Drive. Four years ago, Erin Shelley, a mother from BC, was attempting to teach her son Reese compassion. They had a conversation that some families in their community go without gifts at Christmas. Reese, who was six years old at the time, decided that all children needed something at Christmas and his family tradition has always been to receive a new pair of pyjamas. From that mother-son conversation, the Christmas Pyjama Drive was born. Ever since then, Reece has been on a mission to provide new pyjamas for deserving kids and donate them to various community programs. Over the last four years, he has collected over 7000 pairs! This year his goal is to collect 4000 pairs! This incredible idea, that came from a six year old, has received national attention through the media and SIGN is very proud to be assisting in this initiative. SIGN was approached last week to be the organization that could hand out the pyjamas to families that utilize our services. Our goal is to go even further and to receive enough donations that can go to our many partners in the community and the families that they work with. New pyjama donations can be dropped off at Brown's Social House in Yorkton. On Dec. 7, if you drop off new pyjamas, you will receive 50% off your food bill!
