The Great Canadian Roadshow is in Yorkton all week purchasing unique antiques and collectible items while working together and raising money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

From September 12 to 17 they are at Comfort Inn, 22 Dracup Avenue, Yorkton.

After visiting Smith Falls, Ontario and Stony Plain, Alberta over the last two weeks, the Roadshow is heading to the great city of Yorkton. The experts are seeking out your antiques, collectibles, war memorabilia, jewelry and precious metals such as; gold and silver.

We are extremely proud to be working closely with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, helping in raising funds for research and preventative care. On top of matching every donation during our stay in Yorkton, we will also donate a percentage of all purchases made at the Roadshow! As an organization, we are dedicated to investing in community health care through philanthropic involvement and corporate sponsorship.

Example of how a donation works:

A client brings in a WW2 Bayonet that we would buy for $100, we ask them to donate part of that to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and match it. So if the person were to donate $20 they would receive a cheque for $80, and the total donation would be $40.

$20 from the Roadshow visitor, $20 from the Great Canadian Roadshow
Total Donation of $40 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our process is very simple. You arrive at the show where a greeter will assign you a number. You will then be seated with one of our experts who will review your items and assess their market value based on an internal database of collectors. Our experts can then, hopefully put a cheque in your hands for your collectible items!

We are very excited to be hosting a show in Yorkton, and are anticipating seeing an assortment of interesting treasures during our stay. In recent weeks, we've come across some incredible items and cannot wait to see what else will walk through our doors! Some of the unique collectibles purchased on behalf of collectors include;

A 30,000 year old Mammoth tusk!!!!
A collection of British gold coins from the British Empire
A rare American 3 Legged Buffalo Nickel.
An Authentic 18th century Katana Sword from Japan
A valuable collection of Elvis Records
A 30 year old collection with over 1,000 comic books

Collectors in 2011 are searching for pre - 1960 items. War memorabilia, toys, vintage advertising signs, pocket watches, porcelain and bisque dolls, pretty much everything can be sold at the Roadshow. Any early edition Barbie's tend to be highly sought after, as well as a variety of Dinky Toys and Matchbox Cars. Tin toys in their original box and mint condition can also fetch attention.

It's also no secret that with today's economy, there is a great deal of activity in gold and jewelry exchange, as many people are searching for additional sources of income.

All in all, it's a pretty good set up. For a fee of $0, people from in and around the community can come down to the roadshow, possibly walking out with both; a cheque and a little more space in their closets!
