An arrest has been made and charges have been laid in connection to two armed robberies held in the city this winter.

On Friday, thirty-four-year-old Yorkton resident Grant Barath was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and one count of wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offense.

The charges relate to an Oct. 16 robbery of Holly's Night Club and a November 29 robbery of Family Pizza, both on Broadway in Yorkton.

In both robberies, a male suspect armed with a knife demanded cash from an employee working the night shift. The man escaped with approximately $4,800 from Holly's and about $50 from Family Pizza.

Barath had his first court appearance in Yorkton on Monday.
