The first annual Boston Pizza Day for Camp Easter Seal was launched in Yorkton last week.
All Saskatchewan Boston Pizza Restaurants, BP's Lounges and the Saskatchewan Abilities Council announced a new partnership to send Saskatchewan kids with disabilities to Camp Easter Seal.
Boston Pizza patrons are being asked to support the initiative with the purchase of $2 cards at all Saskatchewan locations. For the entire month of June, Boston Pizza guests can help raise additional funds with the $2 donation to purchase a specially designed Camp Card.
And today (June 26) is officially Boston Pizza Day for Camp Easter Seal, Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 at any Saskatchewan Boston Pizza or BP's Lounge. Ten per cent of total net sales for the day will be donated to Camp Easter Seals through the Boston Pizza Foundation.
"It is very exciting to be pulling together all of our regions franchisees, restaurant staff, supplier community, and generous guests and through the Boston Pizza Foundation, make a difference for kids throughout Saskatchewan, that wouldn't be able to attend summer camp if it wasn't for the incredible work of The Easter Seal Camps" said Earl Fraser, franchisee at the Boston Pizza restaurant in Yorkton.
"We are thrilled to be partnering and hosting this fundraising event at all Saskatchewan Boston Pizza restaurants" said John Denysek, Regional Director, Saskatchewan Abilities Council in a release. "We look forward to serving the local community and raising money to make a difference in the lives of Saskatchewan children with disabilities".
Camp Easter Seal is a fully wheelchair accessible summer camp located on the shores of Lake Manitou near Watrous. Each summer over 700 campers attend Camp Easter Seal and participate in summer adventures such as horseback riding, water skiing, themed dances, arts and crafts, camp outs and memories that will last a lifetime. At a cost of $1500 per child to attend camp for one week, it is important to gain community support for this program. Several of our campers have specialized needs that require one on one care from Camp Easter Seal staff. Camp counsellors are well-trained individuals who can meet the complex and diverse needs of all campers. Full-time medical staff are also on-site. Camp Easter Seal is fully subsidized to the campers.
