Come out to support brain injury survivors in our community!

Brain injury is the number one killer and disabler of children, youth and those under 44. They can result from common every day events, and affect one's life in a dramatic way with significant changes to personality, abilities and mobility. Currently, the only cure for brain injury is prevention!

Acquired Brain Injuries often result from a blow to the head or spinning forces on the brain caused by:

Automobile - ATV -Pedestrian -Bicycle accidents

Sports and work related accidents

Slips and falls

It can also be caused by a disruption of oxygen flow to the brain caused by conditions such as:

Strokes - Cardiac Arrest - Near Drowning - Anoxia - Aneurysm - Meningitis

Drug/Alcohol abuse

Tumors

Each year, more than 2,000 people acquire a brain injury in Saskatchewan. A brain injury can have lifelong effects, not only for the survivor but also for the family. Money raised goes towards local programs, education and prevention, and annual events for brain injury survivors and their families.
