Sean Burns has been a Canadian traveling minstrel for years, including a stop in the Yorkton back in 2010.

Burns returns tomorrow (Thursday) with a stop at 5th Ave Cup & Saucer, again as part of an extensive tour.

"This tour is booked through the early part of August and there's surely a possibility to extend it," he said.

That's not a surprise for the Oshawa, ON. based musician who spends much of his time on the road.

"I was lucky to perform in every province last year," he said, adding "Newfoundland was a real highlight for me. It was my first time out there. Ferry was 18 hours late and I had to reschedule one show. But folks understood and were very appreciative."

A trip west also warranted mention for Burns.

"I always have a great time in the national parks in Alberta. Jasper is especially kind to me," he said.

The current tour is in support of Burns latest recording 'Cold Beans & Broken Eggs', released April 2.

The songs were written from late 2010 to summer 2012, mostly while on the road, he said.

Burns said the album shows some maturity in the way he approaches recording now.

"This album is more cohesive," he said. "The songs fit together and sort of follow a country rock vibe. I think the experience traveling so hard these last few years really shaped the sound and approach."

When asked his favourite cut Burns did not answer easily.

"I like parts of all the songs," he said. "That's a tough call. A lot of it is mind set for me. Some nights certain stories/songs come to life better than others."

The Yorkton show begins at 7 p.m.
