Saltcoats Anglican Church will have NO service on Sunday, July 25, 2010.

Saltcoats Library received a book "Where Money Grows on Tree". The author, Mr. John Goodes had been in town the end of June doing research at the town museum. The story is about the settlement of Romanian pioneers of Lennard, MB which is near Inglis, MB. The connection with this community is that Saltcoats was the point where the rail ended as well as the land registry.

We thank Mr. Goode for his story which is part of our story too.

Saltcoats Beautification Committee and Yellowhead Flyway Birding Trail Association are sponsoring a bus tour to gardens and ecological sites on July 21 and 22. We will leave Saltcoats at 8:00 a.m. on the 21st and bus to Saskatoon and tour Patterson Garden at the University gardens. We will stay overnight at a B+B outside of Saskatoon, then tour the Craik Sustainable living project. We will be home by supper time on the 22nd. Fee of $175.00 includes bus, meals, and accommodation. Deadline is soon so phone Gerri at (306)744-2969 to register or for more information.

Saltcoats Anglican Church hosted Peter and Helen Walley of Lichfield, England for a great prairie potluck on Wednesday, July 7. Peter spoke of the seven marks of a healthy church and Helen brought to mind that listening seems to be a vanishing art.
