The annual FCC Drive Away Hunger Food Drive took place in the city last week. Thanks to local schools and business in Yorkton FCC collected a total of 29,471.25 meals. The food collected was donated Soup Haven, Salvation Army in Yorkton and the Melville and district food bank. Schools involved included MC Knoll and St. Michael’s Schools in the city. Students from the two schools collected bags of food, which were each raised with the help of FCC staff, and then collected in a tracor-pulled wagon, which helped raise the profile of the project as it moved from school-to-school.
