The Village of Calder held their election on Oct. 24, 2012, at the Village Office. Congratulations to our new Mayor, Doug McKenzie and our new councillors Kaili Strand and Vaughan Shipp. The new mayor and councillors will be swore in next month.
Farewell to Walter Balabuk and Peter Swerhun, who were mayor and councillor in town for the last few years.
The Calder Good Neighbour Centre has been busy with their Invitational Whist Drive. The following are the winners of the Invitational Whist Drive: 1st, Jack Miller; 2nd, Norbert Goetz; 3rd, Marlene Miller; 4th, Ella Becker; low, Jim Fustey and Cedric VanDercht of Churchbridge.
The Pot of Gold went to Jack Miller and Margie Mankish. The Door Prize went to Jack Miller.
The Silent Auction winners were as follows: Lil Wozny, Kendra Busch, Edna Becker of Kamsack, Evan Mostoway, Jean Brenner of Churchbridge, Marie Rohatensky, Ann Mostoway, Virginia Antony, Len Mostoway, and Ewald Hautz of Langenburg.
Winners of the pumpkins were Marlene Miller and Virginia Antony.
The Calder Seniors held their Whist Drive on Oct. 20, 2012 and here are the winners: 1st, Walter Echert of Roblin; 2nd, Mildred Danylko; 3rd, Virginia Wandy; low Peter Wereschuk. Pot of gold winners were Virginia Wandy and Beth Furtney of Roblin.

Shiryel Adam, Karen Antony motored to Regina to take Marie Rohatensky to the plane. Marie Rohatnesky is spending the winter months in Calgary with her daughter April Rohatensky.
