The Calder Playschool Graduation was held on April 25, 2012 at the Calder Parkland Regional Library.
The graduating class this year was Kassidi Antony, Joel Andres, Clay Baumung, Nikki Devins, Hannah Jerg and Katrina Ram!
The students each received a grad hat and a diploma.
The Calder Playschool students along with their families enjoyed the afternoon with pizza, fruit, cake and cupcakes.
Calder Playschool will be starting up again in September at the Calder Library. Playschool is not Pre-K, it's for your child to interact with other children and have fun. So if you have a child the age of 3 or 4, bring them out to have some fun.
The Calder Good Neighbour Centre has been busy with their Whist Drives and Invitational Whist and Birthday Social.
On April 22, 2012 the Calder Good Neighbour Centre held their Birthday Social. The Social was held for the months of March and April. Lil Wozney, Gordon Kahut, Margie Mankish and Marie Rohatensky celebrated their birthdays.
The winners of the Birthday Social Whist Drive were as follows: 1st, Virginia Wandy; 2nd, Ann Mostoway; 3rd, Marlene Miller and Jim Fustey and low went to Marjory Mankish. The Pot of Gold winners were Murry Andres and Marie Rohatensky.
On April 24, 2012, the Calder Seniors held their Invitational Whist Drive.
The winners were as follows: 1st, Norbert Goetz of Langenburg; 2nd, Virginia Wandy; 3rd, Elmer Eftoda and Walter Eckert of Roblin and low-Marlene Miller.
The Door Prize winner was Wilf Theis of Churchbridge. The Pot of Gold winners were Walter Eckert of Roblin and Ella Becker and Marlene Miller.
The Silent Auction winners were Len Mostoway, Kendra Busch, Elmer Eftoda, Anna Fyck, Mildred Danylko, Myrna Pastershank, Beth Furtneg, Ella Becker and Caylon Wendorff.
On April 28, 2012, the Calder Yalenka Dance Club held their Spring Concert at the Calder Community Hall. We would like to Thank Grandma B's Greenhouse for the beautiful flowers which were donated to us. Also to Debbie Haas for being our MC for the night. Anne Romaniuk for making the Paska for us. A special Thank You to Jason Sliva for a great job he has done with our dancers. Kallie Haas and Amanda Antony for volunteering their time to help assist Jason with the young dancers.
And most of all we, the club, would like to thank the community and surrounding area for their support throughout the year.
The Calder Yalenka Dance Club had a very good time in Brandon, MB. All the dancers did a great job. Bringing home one silver and all the rest were gold. Grest Job, Dancers!
The Calder Yalenka Dance Club were in Russell on May 12 and 13. The dancers all did very well.
The Calder Regional Library will be holding their Summer Reading Program in July.
