Through SaskCanola's partnership with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Mosaic Stadium has changed its popcorn oil and topping to heart-healthy Canola oil!
To celebrate this change, SaskCanola is pleased to introduce a new Rider popcorn bag, featuring Chris Getzlaf, Shomari Williams and Weston Dressler, to be launched at the SaskCanola Game Day, July 9, 2011.
"This change reflects our partnership with the Riders and our commitment to promote healthy lifestyles, especially for all of Riderville!" said Brett Halstead, Chair of SaskCanola. "Our producers are proud of the relationship we have with the Riders and the development of these special popcorn bags helps further the 'Kickoff to Good Health' campaign we have with the team to inform consumers and Rider fans alike about the health and nutrition benefits of the "number 1" heart-healthy oil canola oil."
The popcorn bag design also carries the health and nutritional information about canola oil.
"These popcorn bags are pretty neat looking and we won't be surprised if our fans have them at home once the contents are gone," said Jim Hopson, Rider President/CEO. "In all seriousness, it has been great to work with SaskCanola as a partner over the past two seasons to bring awareness about the nutritional and health benefits of canola oil to our fans. We needed to take that to heart ourselves and have canola products used at our stadium".
Saskatchewan is the largest producer of canola in the world. Canola oil is the lowest in saturated fats of all vegetable oils and has a unique blend of fats that offer health benefits for healthy people at risk of heart disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
