Cards on table three days a week

Laketown Leaders have card playing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. There is a coffee time as well. On these hot past few days the Stirling room is also open for anyone needing a break in an air conditioned space.

There is bingo scheduled for Thurs., July 26 at 1:30 in the Stirling Room.

Linda and Greg Manwaring of Regina were recent visitors at the home of Isobel Bowes.

United Church worship time for July 22 and 29 is at 9:00 a.m. Mark your calendars for Wed., Oct. 3, 2012, 4:00 p.m. for a Music Workshop with Ron and Chris Klusmeier's "Tour of a Lifetime". At 7:30 p.m. there is a concert. Contact the church office 8:30 - noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays and 8:30 to noon on Wednesdays for more information. 744-2952.

Mary denBrok celebrated her birthday with family at Pike Lake a few weeks ago and she is now in Winnipeg visiting cousins.

Lakeside Manor Care Home Summer Raffle draw winners were: Jeanne Kurtz taking home the cooler; Susan Haas with the mystery basket; Sheila Williams getting the nosegay of roses and Heather Mickle winning the 50/50 draw. The Window Gardens have given an impressive show with many honorable mentions:

Victor Arnott, Ollie Yeskie, Phyllis Bassingthwaite, Geraldine Warkentin and Marvin Sommerfeldt. The first prize went to Eileen Flaman, 2nd to Minnie Yaworski and 3rd to Katherine Stychshyn. A great thank you to volunteers, families and friends for the care given. Call at the care home (744-2353) to view this colorful display and if you could volunteer to weed or adopt a garden, it is not too late.

You are invited to Bishop Greg's last official visit to Saltcoats Anglican church on Thurs., July 26, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. (He has been elected Bishop of Calgary, their gain, our loss).

This is a redediction service for the soon to be complete refurbishment after water damage. A cold plate pot luck supper and fellowship will follow the service.
