Canadian Federation of University Women's Day has been proclaimed for Sept. 14 in Yorkton.


Canadian Federation of University Women's Day has been proclaimed for Sept. 14 in Yorkton.

"CFUW Day will serve as an ideal opportunity to help raise awareness of our organization and its commitments," related a letter circulated to the regular meeting of Yorkton Council where the request received unanimous support.

CFUW Yorkton, will mark the occasion Sept. 25, when its first meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m., Parkland College, Room 101, with Dr. Faye Myers, President of Parkland College, as guest speaker.

Myers' presentation will be on the role of education and training in support of regional economic development, explained local CFUW president Bilkies McKen.

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

McKen said the local club has been active in supporting numerous projects since it was founded in 1954.

Presently, funds are raised for scholarships to be awarded to:

Grade 12 girls attending university

Parkland Regional College

Yorkton Music Festival
