Choir and band join forces

The Yorkton Community Concert Choir under the direction of Laurene Jemieff, accompanied by Shani Apland will present its debut performance on Sunday, November 6th, Westview United Church at 7:30.


The Yorkton Community Concert Choir under the direction of Laurene Jemieff, accompanied by Shani Apland will present its debut performance on Sunday, November 6th, Westview United Church at 7:30. Recently formed, the adult concert choir is preparing a variety of repertoire which will include folksongs, gospel, jazz and pop tunes.

The Yorkton Community Band under the direction of Larry Pearen will join the choir for their first performance of the season. Selections will include marches, musical show tunes as well as jazz versions of concert band classics.

Membership for both these groups is open to the public. Rehearsals for concert choir are on Monday evenings 7:30 - 9:30 while the concert band rehearses on Tuesday evenings beginning at 7 pm all at the Yorkton Regional High School. New members are always welcome.

"We were very pleased to be doing our first performance with our new Yorkton adult choir. Interest has been high and we look forward to participating in this fall concert with the adult concert band," states Laurene Jemieff, Director.
