The Yorkton Community Concert Band under the direction of Larry Pearen is looking for musicians to join them for their new season beginning Tues., Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. Rehearsals take place at Yorkton Regional High School - Band Room. The concert band is open to any individuals who are able to play a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument. The adult concert band performs throughout the year at numerous events and performs a variety of music which includes: concert marches, overtures, show and movie tunes and pop tunes to name a few. Following concert band rehearsals, individuals are also welcome to attend the Yorkton Big Band rehearsals which includes many of the same members but a different style of music. This twenty piece instrumental group with vocalist performs at events throughout the community and is looking forward to another busy year of jazz. Why not get that horn out and join the adult band!
