A Fall Concert is planned with the Yorkton Community Concert Choir under the direction of Laurene Jemieff and the Yorkton Community Concert Band under the direction of Larry Pearen and Brennan Risling. The Concert will feature a number of soloists with many well know selections written by Canadian Composers including Canadian folk songs, Hockey Night in Canada, Calgary Winter Olympics, to name a few... something for everyone. St. Andrew's United Church Tues., Nov. 12 - 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10.00 at the door... Students Free.

Ducks Unlimited Canada 15th Annual Ladies Champagne Brunch Fundraiser will be held on Sat., Nov. 16 at St. Gerard's Parish Complex. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. Silent auction/numerous raffles. The Brayden Ottenbreit Memorial Book Fund, supported by the Kinsmen Club of Yorkton, along with a generous donation made by Tammy Morrison in lieu of her 25 year Service Award from the Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division, is currently accepting applications for approximately $750 of funding for the purchase of books or other items to promote a love of reading and encourage literacy throughout Yorkton and the surrounding area. Interested schools, classrooms, groups and organizations can apply by emailing a 500-word essay, stating their need for the funding and the items they wish to purchase, to [email protected] before October 31, 2013.

The Yorkton Film Festival and the Yorkton Public Library are once again sponsoring Open Cinema, Tues., Nov. 5 at 7:00 at the library. We will view The Real Inglorious Bastards, a story of heroes from the Second World War. The documentary is a celebration of Canadian Veterans' Week. The Sunshine Club is a drop-in centre for adults coping with mental health problems. We are located at 83 North Street, in the SIGN building.
