The week of May 7th to May 12th be declared Spring Clean Up week with landfill entrance fees at the Sanitary Landfill waived for residents and schools of the City of Yorkton.
The waived fees include refuse hauled by residents using their car, van, sport utility vehicle, half/quarter-ton truck or single axle utility trailer.
Residential Spring Clean Up week is a way to "encourage residents of the City of Yorkton to clean up their properties to help improve the image and appeal of our community", identified a report circulated at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday.
The report noted, "This program has been very well received by the residents of Yorkton with 829 qualifying loads taking advantage of Residential Spring Clean Up week.
An annual average of approximately 622 cars, vans, sport utility vehicle, half/quarter-ton truck or single axle utility trailers utilized the service over the past five years. Normal annual average during this time period would be approximately 90 residential loads with qualifying vehicles."
Regular hours of operation would apply during this time for Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..
