City Council formally gave approval for the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with the Parkland Regional College allowing the College to deferral of the landscape planning installation requirements and a revision of the site surfacing requirements of the drive and parking surfaces for the college campus at 273 Dracup Avenue North.

City Council previously reviewed a request from A+K Architects to defer the planted elements and portions of the parking lot on the new College site, with the request before the regular meeting of Yorkton Council June 9. The requested extensions were granted at the June meeting, pending the drawing up, and signing of a formal document.

"The Agreement allows the College to phase in landscaping over a four year time period beginning in 2016. Landscaping will occur along Dracup Avenue North in 2015 and the entire site will be completed in 2019.

Paving of portions of the parking lot will occur in 2015. The remainder must be paved within three years of occupancy which is anticipated to be 2015. This has been a standard time period used by the city in previous development applications," detailed a report circulated Monday.

Parkland Regional College will be responsible for the cost associated with preparing the agreement as well as registering it on title.
