Next month, the college brings a piece of Africa to Yorkton.

An Evening in Africa is a new scholarship fundraiser slated for Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Painted Hand Casino. The event, brought to you by title sponsor the Days Inn Yorkton, will feature a live drumming and dancing performance from ONYXSTASIA African Princess Dance Troupe. For the inner fashionista there will also be a spring fashion show featuring the latest styles for men and women from Safire Clothing, K W Men's Wear, Pulse Apparel and Uptown Casuals. Attendees are also invited to sample African inspired drinks, appetizers, a silent auction and much more.

Parkland College provides scholarships to local students pursuing post-secondary education.

Contributions to the Scholarship Initiative help Parkland College maintain the ability to contribute to the education and training of residents in the Parkland area. The initiative positively impacts the lives of individuals and families, as well as communities and businesses within the Parkland region. This is the fifteenth year that Parkland College has offered scholarships to students enrolled in full-time or part-time courses.

The College welcomes men and women over 19 years of age to come enjoy the show. Tickets are $35 and available at campuses in Yorkton and Melville, The Plum Tree in Yorkton and Royal Drug Mart in Melville. For more information call 306-786-7310 or visit www.parklandcollege.sk.ca.
