Garth Tillman presented a cheque for $1,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund the conceptual plan for a new regional hospital. "I just think planning for a new hospital makes a lot of sense; you can see the growth throughout the area and it looks like that growth is going to continue. You have to plan to make sure you can deliver all of the services we are going to need," said Mr. Tillman. "The hospital is a real draw for bringing people from other communities here. They come here for healthcare, but when they are here they also shop and spend money in the community. I would think the business community would really support building a new hospital; it will be good for our healthcare but also for business" continued Mr. Tillman. "We really appreciate this donation and I like Garth's attitude about supporting a new hospital. A new hospital will be good for Yorkton and for this region: it will mean improved healthcare and it will make it easier to bring new medical specialists to our region. It is great to see how people are starting to get behind this project; and that's important because the only way a project this big succeeds is if the community supports it," said Ross Fisher.
