Barry Zapshalla presented a cheque for $1,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund the conceptual plan for a new regional hospital. The donation is from Barry Zapshalla Investment & Insurance Solutions Inc.

"Over the past ten years we have seen strong economic development not only in Yorkton but in the entire east central area of our province," said Mr. Zapshalla. "Yorkton, the R.M.'s and communities around the area are all taking steps to keep up with our growing population and economy."

"Our schools, community colleges, training centres, and businesses all need planning to meet our growing needs. Clearly, we need to plan for our healthcare needs as well, and I am glad to see Sunrise Health Region developing a conceptual plan for a new regional hospital and the services it will provide," he continued.

"I am happy to contribute to the conceptual plan as planning to enhance our healthcare services makes sense, and will have a huge and positive benefit for everyone who lives in this region," said Mr. Zapshalla.

"We are grateful to receive this donation from Mr. Zapshalla, it is very generous. More and more people are coming forward to say that planning for a new regional hospital just makes sense. This region is growing, and we need to take a look at the healthcare services we are providing now, and those we need to be providing in 10 and 20 years. With a good conceptual plan we will build a facility that can grow with this region, and provide the services we need for in the future," said Mr. Fisher.
