A 34-year-old Cote First Nation man has been charged with murder related to the death of a 20-year-old woman, also from that community.
On August 13, Kamsack RCMP issued a press release stating they had responded along with Kamsack EMS to a report of an unresponsive female at a residence on the reserve just north of the Town of Kamsack. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an autopsy August 15 and a subsequent police investigation, officers arrested Morgan Cote on September 1 on one count of second-degree murder. Cote made a brief court appearance the same day. He was remanded until September 6.
Results of yesterday’s court appearance were not available at press time.
