It has been nice to stop in at the Stirling Room during the hot days to have a refreshing place in air conditioning if ones house got too hot.
Erin, Valerie and Matthew Dally of Surrey, B.C. and Brock and daughter Ellica Knudsen of Regina as well as Glen and Betty Trowell of Saskatoon, with Christine and Todd Kinitschle with children Kingston and Jonah, had been visiting with Val Trowell and family recently.

Congratulations to the RM of Saltcoats celebrating 100 years at a great event Sat., July 28. A big hand to Ron Risling and council for a job well done. The decorative flower pots have been hiding behind the RM office all spring-fanciest back door of any Saltcoats business. The table centre flowers took a lot of work. Bouquet to Joan Taylor. The list of past reeves and council was read and gifts handed out to those present. An overview history, mug and tote bag was handed out to all in attendance. This history was ably compiled by Del Skitcko. This was a great opportunity to meet and greet. The excellent fireworks display (run by Saltcoats and District Volunteer Fire Department) made a perfect ending to a wonderful party.
Granddaughters of Norma Bruce, Kelly and Laura have been visiting lately. The Yorkton Scottish Pipe Band members paid a surprise visit to Linda Bruce at her residence in Yorkton. A much appreciated cheer up!
Mark your calendars for "Cultural Day" in Saltcoats on Sat., Sept. 22, 2012. Time and place with a list of events forthcoming in the next few weeks. The Museum is planning to have Ethnic Foods available. There will be displays, demonstrations and hands on activities. Saltcoats Library is using this opportunity to honour the Queen's Jubilee. Anyone is welcome to bring one royalty piece of memorabilia for display. These can be left at the library any time now so a log is compiled (for your items safety) and preparation for a display can be underway. The one great item so far is a letter from the Town of Saltcoats to the Queen's father declaring loyalty and support at his coronation. The letter of thanks has his signature.
