Dauphin's Countryfest is turning 25 and putting out a stellar lineup for its special 25th anniversary festival. At a press conference held at McPhillips Station Casino in Winnipeg, the first list of acts was released.
"We're Canada's longest running country music festival, and for the past 24 years have been putting together memorable musical lineups with a great mix of current stars and classic artists," says Eric Irwin, president of Dauphin's Countryfest, which takes place June 26 to 29, 2014. "We're especially excited about the coming year. Not only do we get to celebrate our 25th birthday, but we also get to enjoy what could be our finest lineup yet, and will be giving away some great prizes, too."
To mark its 25th anniversary, Dauphin's Countryfest is giving away prizes on the 25th of each month to ticketholders. The next giveaway is a trip for two to Mexico, and the grand prize - a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado - will take place at the festival.
Dauphin's Countryfest is also the subject of a one-hour documentary shot for MTS TV, which shares the excitement and tradition of Canada's longest running country music festival. The documentary is produced and directed by Steve Langston of Dirty T shirt Productions.
"We've been connecting with fans of Countryfest to find out why they love coming back year after year," says Steve Langston, who grew up in Dauphin, not too long before the festival came to be. "We're looking forward to sharing our stories with TV viewers."
