A joyride through a farmer’s field near Kamsack ended in the worst possible way for a 22-year-old Keesekoose First Nations man approximately two weeks ago.
Police say the young man died when the stolen car he was driving hit a dry ravine. He was not found for approximately 10 days until the landowner stumbled upon the grisly scene August 28.
An autopsy was performed, but the coroner has not released an official cause of death.
The RCMP has notified the next-of-kin, but is not releasing the man’s name. They would not say if the man is a suspect in the theft of the vehicle, but a spokesperson said they have no other suspects and no charges are pending.
They are not treating the death as suspicious and do not believe anybody else was involved in the incident.
