Dominion Express Agency Office

The first Dominion Express Agency Office opened in Yorkton in 1912 in the west end of the Canadian Pacific station. The name of the first agent was Dan McAuley at the right, at his left is George Gilbert, porter, and on the delivery sleigh is C.

The first Dominion Express Agency Office opened in Yorkton in 1912 in the west end of the Canadian Pacific station. The name of the first agent was Dan McAuley at the right, at his left is George Gilbert, porter, and on the delivery sleigh is C. Holmes. This business sold money orders, shipped parcels, light freight, handled mail bags and made deliveries. The Dominion Express Company was the original Express Company of the C.P.R. It changed its name in 1926 to Canadian Pacific Express Company.
