Richardson Pioneer is pleased to support the Springside Fire Department in Springside, Saskatchewan with a $10,000 donation towards a new set of Jaws of Life. The Jaws of Life is equipment used by the fire department to pry open a destroyed vehicle to quickly and safely remove the trapped passengers in a high pressure situation.

"This equipment is vital in these terrible accidents for the fire department to do their job safely and efficiently," says Brent Woloshyn, Richardson Pioneer's Director of Operations in Yorkton. "It is critical to ensuring the safety of our community."

The Richardson Foundation is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of rural communities across Canada. In doing this, we believe in creating sustainable futures for registered charities involved in visual and performing arts, education, youth initiatives, environmental issues, health and safety, athletics and water parks.

Every year, the Richardson Foundation donates over $1 million to a variety of community projects and organizations across Canada. These donations are used to fund community projects that enhance the quality of life in the communities in which Richardson Pioneer operates.

"Updating equipment that directly benefits these rural communities is something that we feel very strongly about," says Tom Hamilton, Vice-President, Richardson Pioneer. "We are very proud to be a part of these communities and we are committed to doing our part to help build even stronger communities for generations to come."

Richardson Pioneer is a division of Richardson International, Canada's largest agribusiness.
