Sturgis RCMP attended to a double fatal collision early Saturday morning. The collision occurred on Highway 47, approximately 14 km south of Preeceville.
A southbound pickup truck lost control, entered the ditch on the west side of the highway, struck a culvert and rolled. There were seven occupants in the truck.
A 19-year-old male from the town of Sturgis and a 20-year-old male from the town of Sturgis both died at the scene.
Two occupants of the truck were taken to hospital in Preeceville, with the other three occupants being taken to hospital in Canora, all with undetermined injuries.
There is no sign that seatbelts were being used prior to the collision. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the collision. The collision is still under investigation at this time.
The names of the two deceased males will not be released.
The Melville RCMP are requesting the public's assistance locating the person(s) responsible for damaging a farmyard South of Neudorf by spinning tracks on the lawn sometime between June 9 and July 10, 2011.
