A multi-agency investigation in June by Yorkton RCMP and the Regina Integrated Drug Unit has resulted in 23 drug-related charges against four adults and a youth in Yorkton.

The three-week operation happened in conjunction with a two-month drug investigation in Estevan. Forty-one charges were laid against 10 individuals in that city.

Mid-level and street dealers were targeted in the Yorkton investigation, which resulted in the seizure of marijuana, crack cocaine, and Ritalin.

At the end of June, police executed search warrants at four residences located on King Street, Wellington Street, the 100 Block of 6th Avenue North, and the 100 Block of Laurier Street.

The following people from Yorkton are facing charges of drug trafficking and possession of the proceeds of a crime: William Henry Charles Crawford, age 24; Nathan Angus Lowe, age 32; Kristopher Troy Liebrecht, age 33; Luke James Scuthchings, age 21; Layne Warner Stehr, age 20; and a 15-year-old male who cannot legally be named.

Crawford faces the most charges, with four counts of each. Lowe faces two counts of each and an additional charge of theft.

Police say that additional arrests of four currently unnamed adults have been made, with charges pending against them of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and breach of undertaking.

All of the accused had scheduled court appearances on June 28.
