Customers of York-Sask Dry Cleaners who had garments at the shop on First Avenue when fire claimed the business in November will know very soon whether they are getting their clothes back or a financial settlement.

Loreen Poirer, co-owner of York-Sask with her husband Doug, said the insurance adjusters are nearly done with the arduous task of evaluating the inventory and will likely have a report for the owners this week.

She also expects they will have tenders back for the renovation of the store this week and work should start on rebuilding within the next couple of weeks. She doesn't know exactly how long, it will take, but said damage was extensive.

"It's going to be a few months," she said.

Meanwhile, according to Loreen, business is going very well at the temporary location in the Yorkville Shops on Second Avenue building.

"We're keeping people accommodated until we're back in biz," she said.

Full tailoring and alterations services have been restored and with the services of Bregg Cleaners from Regina, dry cleaning is going out Tuesdays and returning Thursdays.

"It's very good turnaround," Loreen said.
