On Saturday, July 2, a celebration for the 25th anniversary of Norma (Topliss) and Gary Granat was held at the Dubuc Friendship Centre. The evening started with snacks and visiting, followed by a catered Chinese Food supper. When supper was done, the honored couple was presented with a beautiful bear picture that was originally photographed near their retirement home at Turtle Lake in northern Sk. Doug had the photo blown up and framed. They also received a big flat-screen TV from their daughter, Heather, Doug and grandson, Lee. Following the gift opening, there was a very nice video presentation that had been prepared by Heather and Doug. After all this, the group went outside to have pictures taken. In attendance, along with the bride and groom of 25 years, were their children, Heather and Doug Schneider and their grandson Lee of Regina; and Norma's brothers, sister and families - Larry and Chris Topliss, their son, Jared and Heidi, and children, Hayden and Nathan, all of Yorkton and their daughter, Charla from Red Deer; Lanny Topliss, Dubuc and his daughters, Danette and her partner, Harley Hoffman from Ebenezer, Tertia , Delaney and their friend, Celine from Regina; Murray and Irene Bawden, their son, Tom and friend, Traci and her boys, Joey and Carson and their daughter, Julie and Joey Duchek and children, Paisley and Keaton, all from Dubuc; Carlyle and Brenda Topliss of Canora and daughter, Lacey from Yorkton; Ronald and Denise Topliss and their daughter, Ashley and friend, Cody Milton of Saskatoon. After festivities ended at the "Hut", the party continued for the rest of the evening around a campfire in the Bawden farmyard. A fun time was had by all. Congratulations and best wishes from Dubuc and Community on your silver wedding anniversary, Norma and Gary!

On Saturday, July 9, 2011, the Dubuc Memorial Hall was the scene of Alan and Betty Willway's 60th wedding anniversary celebration. Their wedding dance had been held in the same hall 60 years ago on October 29, 1951. They also held their 25th, 40th and 50th anniversary celebrations there. Their daughter, Verone and hubby, Barry Charington were celebrating their 34th anniversary that day. 150 guests were treated to a catered roast beef buffet supper, followed by a program and dance for this special occasion.

Verone acted as MC for the evening introducing the head table guests: the honored couple, Alan and Betty; their two daughters: Verone and Barry Charington from Saskatoon and Verity Willway and Roger Perzan of Regina; all five of their grandchildren: Verenna Peterson and Mike Sheror; Vanessa Peterson and Scott Burlock; Layne Peterson, all from Regina; Brittany Charington of Saskatoon and Braden Charington from Elkford, BC.

Other relatives attending were: Betty's sisters, Rose and Don Walters and Mary Gorchinski, both of Yorkton (It was noted that Rose was the only attendant from 60 years ago that was able to be present); Keri and Sara Zulyniak, Calgary, AB; Laurie and Keith Coldwell, Victoria and Oliver, BC; Caren and Ray Edamura, Toronto, ON; Jim Coldwell, Winnipeg, MB; Janet Jobe, Saskatoon; Bryan and Diane Mercer, Calgary, AB; Wally and Doreen Senyk, Melville.

Coffee and anniversary cake were served at lunch time. The last dance, For the Good Times, ended the beautiful evening. Memories, Memories, Memories.

The following weekend, a baby shower was held for Vincent and mom, Katie, hosted by Julie Duchek at her home. The weatherman co-operated and the party was held outdoors on the lawn with 17 ladies and several children attending from the surrounding area.

The Sunday morning breakfast of an omelet in a bag was one of the highlights of the weekend.
