On Sat., June 9, a bridal shower was held for Allyssa Freed, Sept. bride-elect of Jared Schlechter, at the BS Bar in Dubuc. The afternoon was hosted by her bridesmaids and approximately 40 guests were in attendance. Games were played such as the Toilet Paper Bride Dressing and the bubblegum bridegroom quiz. Gifts were opened and displayed for all to see. Dainties, fruit and snacks were served. Two very special guests at the shower were the brides' great-grandma, Dagmar Moller of Esterhazy and not to be out done, the grooms' great-grandma, Doreen Schlechter, Melville. Supper and a stagette followed in the evening.
John and Joan Wilson motored to Regina on June 8 to take in the wedding of John's great-nephew, Glen Smith, of Pelly and Gwen Stradeski from Regina. Unfortunately, the day was bittersweet due to the death of John's niece, the groom's mother, that morning after a long illness. It was a lovely wedding and a beautiful day in spite of their untimely loss. Saturday evening was spent visiting and having supper out with children, Maureen, Barb, Kent and Kathy Wilson and Joan's sisters, Pat Todd, Janet Earl, and Betty & Hab Love. John and Joan returned home Sunday after a busy weekend!
Coffee Row was a busy place on Tuesday when both Darlene Yuke and Darlene Stevenson brought baking for everyone to enjoy. Twenty-two people attended that morning. The Angel Food Cake and fresh cinnamon buns, cookies and mini strudel were devoured along with "free coffee" bought by Darlene Yuke. Darlene Stevenson gave a donation to the hut as coffee was already paid for. Thank you, girls, and we hope you both have a happy, healthy year.
