Leona and Joe Kaczur recently attended a Don Williams concert at the Conexus Art Centre in Regina. The concert was very enjoyable. They spent overnight with daughter, Candace.

Congratulations to Miriam and Larry Anderson who became grandparents again. Axel William, was born on May 20 to their son, Eric and Michelle Anderson from Esterhazy. Congrats also to Axel's excited big sister, Helaina, and great-grandmothers, Doreen Edwards and Myrtle Anderson, also both of Esterhazy.

Several ladies met at the hall on Tuesday afternoon to give it a "spit and polish" job in time for a couple upcoming bookings. The kitchen was given a good washing, the bathrooms were cleaned and wallpapered, the dance floor was scrubbed and even the stage was tidied during the cleaning bee. A big thank-you goes out to these hard-working volunteers.

Joe and Leona Kaczur attended Grade 12 graduation ceremonies, exercises and supper, in Erikson, MB on June 24 for granddaughter, Heather Bialas, daughter of Lynn (Kaczur) and Stan Bialas of Onanole, MB. Onanole has elementary schooling available but the children are bussed to Erikson for high school. Heather will be attending Brandon university in the fall.

Visitors at coffee row this past week were Velma (Talbot) Fuchs of Grayson, Carolyn (Moore) Thauberger from Vancouver, Denae Edwards from Nanaimo and Margie and Ed Oldham of Regina. We always enjoy visits from former Dubucites and especially the news they share about their families.

Carolyn and the Oldhams have been spending some time at their get-away homes in the village. They both kept their parents homes as vacation homes instead of selling them. Carolyn has also been visiting with her mom, Margaret Moore, who resides in a nursing home in Ituna and her children in Regina and Yorkton. Denae is the daughter of Tanis (Nielsen) and Dave Edwards and is spending a couple weeks holidaying with grandparents, Peter and Audrey Nielsen.

Marco DeVries of Nagele in the Netherlands is visiting with his brother, Rainier DeVries who farms North of Dubuc in the Sprucedale district and lives on the former Nielsen farm. He is enjoying his visit and renewing acquaintances he's made on previous visits.

Dawn Andersen and children, Hudson and Kareena, were down at their "little house" on Noel Street to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of Regina. They, along with cousins Terra, Ashalee and Riley Talbot, plan to take in the Yorkton Exhibition on Friday.

A former Dubuc resident, Rose (Appel) Kulcsar passed away July 1 at the age of 90 years. Sympathy from the Dubuc community is extended to her family: Jim (Jean), Rheinny (Bev), Don (Kathy), Gerry, Norbie (Deb), Sylvia (Dan) Duchek, Bernie (Lou) Ellert, and Dale (Penny), 26 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Condolences are also sent out to all Rose's extended Appel and Kulcsar family members. It is interesting to note that all eight of her children lived, worked and raised their families in the province of Saskatchewan even when the boom was happening elsewhere.

Sharon Clark had a houseful over the July 1st weekend when her children, Darrell, Sechelt, BC; Stacey (Lana), Clavet; Tammy (Sam) Nguyen, Cochrane, AB; Vincent, Saskatoon and 10 grandchildren came to visit. As well as visiting and enjoying the family reunion, everyone pitched in to help build/renovate the porch/laundry room.
