This photo of early days of Yorkton could have been used on a New Year greeting card. It is a typical winter scene of Yorkton men at work. There are also several men around who could be on-lookers or shoppers. It is taken in 1905 in front of Levi Beck's General store on Broadway and Fourth Avenue North. Today, the building houses Frameworks and the Toronto Dominion Bank occupies the corner location.
Ball's Dray is delivering freight to the store. Delbert Ball, owner of the draying business is sitting on a wooden barrel. Ben Kimber is driving the team.
(The word "dray" meant a low heavy horse wagon without sides used for hauling freight items.)
